Date: Tuesday January 03, 2006 CommentsI watched Sunday's game with the St. Louis Rams, here is a team that won 6 games and the cowboys won at least 9 games. At the beginning of the game the cowboys was not playing intensively like the previous week. Julius Jones was held to 10 yards before the half time, the offensive line wasn't doing their job protecting Bledsoe. They were blocking like Jane. The defense did a good job but the secondary didn't do a good covering the receivers. Every thing did n't go right. In addition Bledsoe wasn't throwing the football with accuracy with two interception. I think Quicy Carter should return as the quarterback. And it be called as a coaching problem and the team didn't appeared they want to win. Fire the coach, replace the guarterback, draft offensive linesman to protect the guarterback, and work on the secondary for next year.

Friday December 30, 2005 CommentsHey..Cowboys fan (Troy, NY) ...I agree the games between the two teams in the 70's were some of best .,but it seemed it was always the Cowboy making it to the Super Bowl to batttle the Steelers in the end. The one consistant factor in favor of the Cowboys for over a decade was coach Tom Landry,Roger Starback and Drew Pearson. They really made it hard for opposing teams to win, even on the road. Yeah...and I being a DC born skins fan recall them producing last second , heartbreaking wins over the skins.The most stunning were those final minute touchdowns on Thankgiving Day....Ah man!!!.... we never ,got over that. I guess that was a reason why we can appreciate but , can't love them Cowsboys. But we did like the 80's when coach Gibbs brought us honor and sweet revenge. DC has many interesting sites and is full of history I would go back again anytime. I enjoyed most of my rival fans too except for one or two, got to meet the CHIEF (very cool) and gave him Cowboy Rays best wishes. Your stadium is awesome. Also got to visit on the set of PTI (ESPN) as they taped their show, met Tony, Mike and Stat Boy, good guys. Love the Boys/Skins days of the 70's that was a GREAT love/hate game every game 2 times a year. The 80's and 90's not so much fire maybe we can get back to the 70's feelings again. ;o} Good luck but not to much, GO COWBOYS!

The one thing that I am most dissapointed in from the Cowboys this year is Julius Jones. With the way that he performed the last seven games of last season i saw a future every down back for my beloved Cowboys, but after the injuries this season i actually think that Marion Barber has won the job from Julius. Marion has almost as many yards on fewer carries and has a better ypc average than Jones. He seems to be more of a threat out of the backfield and he has proven that he is good at finishing in the red zone. In fact most of the time the Boys are in the red zone you see Barber instead of Julius in the backfield for Parcells. On my last note don't give up on Parcells people, he knows his shit he just needs the right personel. Time, all we need is time....

As a Skins fan for 28 years I've seen good stretches and bad, and we've mostly been bad to mediocre for a decade. It's been rough. Which is exactly why we were "dancing in the stands". You would have been, too. It was the kind of joy that a sports fan only gets after his team has been down for a long time and then destroys a hated rival in a meaningful game. To tell you the truth, though, I was as shocked as any of you. No way did I think the Skins would tear the Cowboys apart the way we did. And I know you'll be back...causing us more misery. No disrespect is intended to ya'll. But for now...and through next fall...we're gonna revel in this. It's one of the joys of being a fan. He may have been a member of the Cowboys as a practice player or on the inactive roster. So you could unofficially/officially be a Dallas Cowboy player but unless you play in a regular season game (I don't know if preseason counts) you will not be mentioned any where on a Cowboys roster. I've done this and my friends just went for Thanksgiving and used the Touchdown Club out of the Weekly and loved them. Go a couple days early and see all the sites if you do package deal some even stay at same hotel Cowboys do and have autograph events. It has also been am little disappointing however because we should be at least 8 and 2. I live on an Indian Reservation and sometimes we were unable to watch the game but i would always ask my uncle "did we win, did we win. " My unlce would read the paper to me to tell. Then later on when i was able to read more i would read it for myself. Today 22 years later I'm still a true fan no matter what anyone says i still yell and scream at the TV for my team just as if i was at the game. Sometimes my family would says enough already and I just say "oh well". I alway believed that they could do, we all have our ups and downs. And this year is our year to bloom and guess who's going to be there to yell and scream at the TV. When we got in the red zone the cowboys can't get the ball in for the touchdown. We had capable people who can throw for a touchdown or run for touchdowns. There has to be a reason why this is happening. And there are people losing their jobs because of missed field goals and people keeping their job for throwing interceptions. I think Parcell should just fire himself and let another coach take over the head coaching position. I think I should just root for another team, I don't have any confidence for the cowboys anymore. He did everything you shouldnt do on that, he makes the first down the game is over, we dont even have to score on that play. I just cant believe what I'm seeing out there, didnt Parcells get here to win, seems like every game we are playing to the level of the competition. Parcells and the coaching staff must have no confidence in this team. As I recall Payton got demoted in 2000 on the giants for his horrid play-calling.

They started of a little rough but I think it is all coming together after thrashing the "Birds" in week 5. Our Secondary and our O-line was a little shaky the first couple of weeks, but both of those units brought their A-game against one of the elite teams in the National Football League in the Eagles. I Just hope that they continue to build on the progress they have made thus far and they will go above and beyond expectations. The Star on the side of the helmet, the silver, white and navy blue. I ask again, does it get any better? From the Cotton Bowl to the Stadium with the hole in the roof. Need I ask does it get any better than that? God I love the Boys! Not that there's any thing wrong with that. ;o} (Seinfeld) Think about the first time you saw them, think about the first Cowboy you met, think about the first game you went to see, think about the first time they won it all when you were a fan, think about how they make you feel when ever you see their logo, hear there name, what ever is related to them. Does it get any better than that? The first time I saw them I was in first or second grade, the first Cowboy I met was Rayfield Wright when is was about 13, they beat Miami 24-3, the first game I went to was at Texas Stadium in 94 against the Redskins the Sunday before Thanksgiving which was my second game. The Jason Garrett game, oh what a game! That game I stepped out on the field at half time for a special event, American Airlines and Dallas Cowboys "Kick To Win" contest, I kicked a 25 yard field goal! Does it get any better than that? Yes it does, every day I am a Dallas Cowboys fan (and believe me I am) it gets better than the day before. Did I say I love our Boys? At one time I wanted to be Calvin Hill and Walt Garrison, I share the same birthdate and year as Everson Walls (12/28/59), I played the corner in High School and wore number 24. (same as Everson) Does it get any better than that? I have 94 autographs of Cowboys from 1960 to 1970, missing Bob Hayes (should be in HOF) I'm sorry to say and can't get Herb Adderley to reply to me but that's okay. Let's read some of your memories because I'll tell you, it don' get any better than a Dallas Cowboys memory!

The Cowboys team as much as I love them are a business and now are Parcell's business. He hates any type of distraction, especially one that he basically got rid of (Emmitt) and tried to use Hambrick in the mean time. Why would we have to go out and sign an aging RG to a 9M signing bonus? Andre Gurode was the 37th overall pick. He has all the physical tools. He should be coached up to play up to his potential. This coaching staff is very well paid and it disgusts me that a signing bonus of that size has to be paid for someone to play RG. Which is not even the strong side of the formation. My second issue is with Henry. I wanted Fred Smoot. I live in the DC area and I know how good Smoot can be. I don't understand how they did not want Antoine Winfield the year before, yet they are bragging about Henry being the guy they thought was worth a double digit signing bonue. How is one any better than the other?

That way we will have a DE and a DT. However, I know that we have not had luck in the past with DE's so it might be good to look for a receiver like Edwards from Michigan. I think that we need to get that winning spirit back and bring in players with a winning spirit like jason witten and julius jones.We need playmakers and leaders players who can put the ball in the endzone and players that make plays right now we have very few. I think we need to make better decisions drafting and better decisions trading,and picking free agents this year a lot of players today play for the money and don"t respect the game. I know things will be better next year just look at the difference of having Julius Jones playing. The Cowboys have many key players they just need to stay consistant and play together like a team. The quarterback is the leader and I don't think Vinny is mobile enough or consistant enough to get them through the tough games.

Date: Friday February 04, 2005 CommentsThe day is week 13 in the 2004 regular season at the Seahawks. Julis Jones did a wonderful job at the game. Rushing for over 150 yards I think he is the most talented running back that I have ever seen juke and spin people out of their shoes. Like when againist the New York Giants when he went to the outside of the field and he put his hand down and went the other way and faked alot of people out some people might think he is not up the middle running back. I could prove them wrong when he just flat out ran over the deffensive linebackers like aganist the Seahawks when they handed to him for 19 yards away from the opponent goaline and he just flat out ran over everybody and kept his legs moving and got the touchdown. That is the most important thing keep your legs moving and keep driving. I know because I was a fullback know matter who we were playing I would alaways get about 3 yards everytime I would get the ball. The Eagles are lucky that the cowboys didn't have all their players I know that they would just they them out just wait Cowboys fan they are going to get them next year. It is one thing to be disregarded by the NFL Hall of Fame, but to be disregarded by a team that they played/won for is ridiculous. I am pretty sure that Emmitt will be place there immediately and he does not meet the "original criteria" of the Ring of Honor. Only players that with the "Dallas Cowboys" should be members of the Ring of Honor, but that was disregarded when you allow Tony Dorsett to be inducted. I am very disappointed in the "America's Team" that I once knew.

Consistancy is evidence that players know where to be and when to be there. They know their job and can execute it. They have confidence that, if they do these things, they will win - and they win. Date: Monday January 03, 2005 CommentsDisappointed as usual with tonights game. The defense blew it again. Not only could they not stop wimpy eli, they couldnt even slow him down. Parcells in his infinite wisdom still had Frazier starting at cb and as usual he couldnt cover a backup wr and committed a huge pass int penalty. Marcellus Wiley got a sack tonight, thanks to a blitz, and finished with 3 sacks all season long, wow, what a player! Hopefully Keyshawn will be ok next yr. According to strength of schedule the Cowboys will have the 12th or 13th pick next yr and will have 3 picks of the first 44 or 45 picks. No way do you trade any of those picks. Cowboys need a dominant pass rusher, because opposing qb's like tonight just picked our zone defense apart because they have too much time. Good pass rush is in the QB's face within 3 -4 seconds. No pass rush and an awful secondary is a disastrous combination. Should have had that win tonight, offense fought back so many times. That idiot leonardo carson committed a personal foul on the last drive. Marcellus Wiley also contributed a personal foul to go with his 1 sack tonight. All in all, Eli Manning got sacked only once in his 26 passing attempts. 1 for 26 in sacks is not going to win you many games. Cowboys run defense looked good until the end when the giants used the trap play, that trap play always hurts us because we are so undersized and its easier to run straight at a smaller defense instead of around it. Cowboys must draft a defensive end, because a strong pass rush can cover up weak cb's but a weak pass rush exposes even the best of cb's. Cundiff needs to be relieved of his duties in favor of someone who can kick deeper. You just cant give up field position especially when your cb's can cover.

This year was by far not the worst season, in comparison to the Dave Campo era, yet we as fans seem to not realize who is making the mistakes. We should be giving credit where credit is due, or we will continue on our losing path. As far as the quarterback situation goes, that is the least of our problems. Vinny Testaverde and Eddie George came to Dallas to finish their careers. We are damn lucky to have them. The are legends and we have the honor of having them here in Texas. Neither of them are from Texas, they don't have to be here, and the only way we got them here is because of our reputation as "America's Team". By no means were they ever supposed to be the team-changing players that would stop the show, and lead us to a Superbowl! They made our team look good and quite attractive, from a marketing perspective, and in the process, they aren't bad players. Did Seattle sign Jerry Rice with great hopes of him leading them to greatness? No, but who wouldn't want living legends and experienced players to join their team. What Vinny and Eddie do for our team is motivate, give advice, and set a standard to which all other players can strive to reach. Longevity gets harder and harder in this profession, in the day and age of Ricky Williams, and the youth we have on our Cowboys team needed a balance of wisdom and class. Thats what they brought us, and in return we as fans have shown disrespect and stupidity by holding Vinny responsible for this year's poor play. The 'booing' and the begging for another quarterback is the most immature way to handle defeat. If fans believe booing will get us anywhere, look how much its changed any decisions. Vinny continues to start so obviously Parcells does not care if fans are booing. To Vinny, its as if he doesn't hear a thing. He plays the same when fans boo and complain, as he does when we cheer. Often he is the only one doing anything in the game! Whether its great or not, he's at least doing something. And to think he was lured to Dallas with the understanding he was a back-up, and has carried this team to the end. He'd be crazy to spend another year in Texas, and the rest of the NFL will think twice before coming here as well. The Dallas fans need to wake-up and see that Vinny and Eddie are in the game for a reason. The coach makes those decisions. They do what they can do. If its not good enough, they are replaced by someone who is better. The coach knows who is better on the team. Thats his job. He is with them everyday. They practice, they watch film, and they analyze the data and stats. Do the fans actually believe they know more than the coach? Its his job, and he knows more than any fan in the stadium. Obviously Parcells has no one who's better than Testeverde. And if thats the case, the Cowboys did a poor job drafting and finding a quarterback. Thats the fault of the owner, GM, and coach. Not the player on the field. Dallas used to be a place of class and heart. This year we proved that to be very wrong. If fans are not happy with the continuous losing, don't buy tickets. Let the frnchise know they need to do their job better. But don't blame the players that are chosen to represent the team. There are still 9 years before a nice new facility will be enticing anyone in the NFL to jump on the Dallas Cowboy team bandwagon. Who wants to go to a loser team that has crappy fans and a bad attitude. Grow up Dallas, its supposed to be for fun!!!
