Head coach: Dave Campo

Pro career:
Campo became the fifth head coach in Cowboys history on January 26, 2000, after 11 seasons as an assistant with the club. In his two seasons at the helm, the club posted a 10-22 record. Campo has participated in three Super Bowls, four NFC Championship Games, and won six division titles. He joined four NFL head coaches who have been a part of three or more Super Bowl titles in their coaching careers. That group includes Mike Shanahan, Bill Belichick and Mike Holmgren. From 1995-99, Campo directed the Dallas defense. Prior to that, Campo served as the Cowboys’ secondary coach (1991-94) and was a defensive assistant (1989-1990). Career record: 10-22.

Background:
Campo was a defensive back at Central Connecticut State from 1967-1970 and twice earned All-East honors at shortstop. He began his coaching career at Central Connecticut State, coaching linebackers (1971-72). He then moved to Albany State (1973), Bridgeport (1974), Pittsburgh (1975), Washington State (1976), Boise State (1977-79), Oregon State (1980), Weber State (1981-82), Iowa State (1983), Syracuse (1984-86), and Miami (1987-88).

Personal:
Born in New London, Conn., on July 18, 1947. Was a standout at Robert E. Fitch High School in Groton, Conn. Dave and his wife, Kay, have six children—Angie, Eric, Becky, Tommy, Shelbie and Michael.
